Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo said he did not regret rejecting Real Madrid bid despite assess the Spanish club is one of the best teams in the world.
Pirlo could be the target of Madrid in the summer of 2006.
However, at that time, the 35-year-old midfielder remained at AC Milan before deciding to move to Juventus in the summer of 2011.
"Capello (Madrid coach) called me in 2006. Milan have a problem with the Calciopoli scandal and the deal is almost created. However, everything goes wrong and the contract (in Milan) is updated," said Pirlo.
"Madrid is Madrid. Nothing more need be said. They are a great team in the world. Do I regret it? No. That season, the fact that we won the Champions League with AC Milan," he added.
